BROKEN PIANOS CLIPS

Piano had always been my favourite instrument, Bach one of my heroes, but I never learned to play (terrible left-right coordination). But that never stopped me improvising and encouraging others to do so too. Plenty of visitors couldn't play either, as they would point out, except that of course that they could. Getting people to just have a go was much of the fun. In the clips, one or two pianos are played on, but imagine twelve in action, manned by twenty people!
The Broken Pianos Orchestra is history now, but give me the opportunity to set one up again and I would. It takes passion that's all. And occasional use of a van. And team spirit with some great people, like our Weissensee crew, up for some heavy exercise in a good cause. As far as broken pianos (and not so broken pianos) go, there are plenty around. Owners are often happy to give them away, saving the cost and making some space. The important requirement is a suitable home. With tolerant neighbours...
